Give me Jesus - for SATB choir
Give me Jesus is a traditional African-American spiritual. In this arrangement, it is a peaceful and passionate gesture towards faith in humanity, and a farewell to our loved ones. It was originally the last movement of An Old Belief, a seven movement work for choir. The work was composed shortly after the death of the composer's mother, and the work deals directly with the subject of religious faith in times of crisis.
