Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) was a pianist and prolific composer for that instrument. His music includes some of the most well-known and best-loved works for the piano. Chopin composed two piano concertos early in his career, with the numbered First being the second in composition. It was premiered in 1830. The second movement Romanze was described by Chopin as “a sort of meditation in beautiful spring weather, but by moonlight”. This arrangement is for chamber orchestra and is the complete work unabridged.
Instrumentation: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, timpani, solo piano, violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, double bass (minimum 2, 2, 2, 2, 1)
