Antonin Dvorak composed his first set of Slavonic Dances (Op. 46) in 1878, originally for piano duet. They were a popular triumph, giving the composer wide international fame. Dvorak orchestrated them and composed a second set (Op. 72) in 1886. The final dance of the first set is a furiant in G minor, full of cross-rhythms and minor-major clashing tonalities. This arrangement is a faithful reduction for 14 players, that can be performed with more strings if available.
Instrumentation: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Timpani, Percussion (Triangle, Cymbal), Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Includes full score and complete set of parts
