Arranged for chamber orchestra
PDF downloads are ready on completion of the order, with separate files for each piece. 2 downloads of each file are permitted. The unauthorised copying or sharing online of the whole or part of the publication is illegal. PDFs remain the sole copyright of Aria Editions for all countries.
Parsifal was Richard Wagner's final opera to be completed. This orchestral fantasy attempts to capture all of the significant events of the opera in one continuous work, essentially as a tone poem without voices. It is a reduction for chamber orchestra of Wagner's large score, preserving many of the different timbres and details of the original. There are several notable orchestral passages in the opera that are often performed separately, and these are featured in the Fantasy, including the Prelude to Act One, the Flowermaidens Scene and the Good Friday Music. The musical content is in the same chronological order as the opera.
Instrumentation: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, 2 horns, trumpet, trombone, timpani, harp, violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, double bass (minimum 2, 2, 2, 2, 1)
