For solo piano: original score and new edition
PDF downloads are ready on completion of the order, with separate files for each piece. 2 downloads of each file are permitted. The unauthorised copying or sharing online of the whole or part of the publication is illegal. PDFs remain the sole copyright of Aria Editions for all countries.
The ‘Concert Allegro’ is Elgar’s most substantial piano work, and yet was unpublished in his lifetime. The score was left full of revisions and not in a final, definitive form. Although published in 1969, the work was presented in a cut, revised version. This publication presents the original score in a clear layout, showing the various revisions to the manuscript, but allowing the pianist to view the available material. It also presents a new performable edition by Iain Farrington of the piece using much of the original material but incorporating some of Elgar’s revisions.
