Arranged for chamber orchestra
Götterdämmerung is the final opera in Richard Wagner's epic cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen. This orchestral fantasy attempts to capture all of the significant events of the opera in one continuous work, essentially as a tone poem without voices. It is a reduction for chamber orchestra of Wagner's large score, preserving many of the different timbres and details of the original. There are several notable orchestral passages in the opera that are often performed separately, and these are featured in the Fantasy, including Dawn and Siegfried's Rhine Journey, Siegfried's Funeral March and Brünnhilde's Immolation Scene. The musical content is in the same chronological order as the opera. This is a reduction for chamber orchestra (without singers) of Wagner's large score, preserving many of the different timbres and details of the original.
Instrumentation: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, 2 horns, trumpet, trombone, 2 percussion (timpani, snare drum, suspended cymbal, crash cymbal, glockenspiel, triangle), harp, violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, double bass (minimum 2, 2, 2, 2, 1)
Includes full score and complete set of parts
