Dukas - The Sorcerer's Apprentice (score)
Arranged for chamber ensemble (14 players)
One of the most popular pieces in classical music, ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ is based on a poem by Goethe, and tells the story of an apprentice using his master’s magic to clean up. He loses control of the broom, flooding the room with water, before the old wizard returns to end the spell. Arranged for 14 players by Iain Farrington, Dukas’ score brilliantly captures the humour and wildness of the poem.
