The Flight of the Bumblee is one of Rimsky-Korsakov's most well-known works, and is taken from the opera 'The Tale of Tsar Sultan'. It has been arranged for numerous instrumental forces, especially as a display piece. This arrangement for 13 players is by Iain Farrington, and follows the basic thematic structure of the work, but with new harmonies, rhythms and instrumentation.
Instrumentation: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Xylophone, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Double Bass.
